David Sparks - President and CEO
David founded Global Service Solutions in 2000. Under his leadership, the company has grown into one of the leading prepaid distributors in the United States, and has consistently ranked as one of Atlanta’s top 100 private companies.
As GSS has grown, so too have David’s ambitions to develop premier B2B technology solutions for an evolving wireless industry. His extensive background in the prepaid industry is built on over two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, as well as a professional grounding in the financial services and insurance industries.
Originally from South Africa, David holds a degree in Management Finance and Operations from the University of Witwatersrand, the nation’s pre-eminent college
Ivan Sarembock - Finance Manager
With over seven years at Global Service Solutions, Ivan has been instrumental in guiding the company’s accounting strategies.
His strategic vision is borne of years of experience in financial management positions, ranging from the retail industry, where he held a senior financial position for a 300-store public company, to his years as a Financial Comptroller for a Californian commercial real estate developer.
Earlier in his career, Ivan interned in the audit department of the global accounting giant, Grant Thornton International. He holds an Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa and is licensed in the United States as a Certified Public Accountant.
Merle Sparks - Accounts Payable and Receivable Manager
As a company committed to B2B prepaid solutions, Merle is crucial in liaising between carriers and vendors.
Merle has long worked on both ends of the business. Earlier in her career, she bought and sold in the South African diamond industry. Today, Merle comes into the office every morning with over two decades of experience in banking and debtor controls.
Now in her eleventh year with Global Service Solutions, Merle’s commitment to accuracy and timeliness make her the administrative hub of our company.
Sandra Akins - Client and Vendor Relations Manager
Sandra excels at fostering long-term partnerships, human-to-human, system-to-system. With 25 years in the telecommunications industry, her stellar track record began in satellite communications, where she supported management in the Engineering, Marketing and Sales departments.
As technology advanced, so did her career aspirations. Sandra moved into the wireless industry and spent nearly a decade in prepaid before joining our team. She has been with Global Service Solutions for eight years.
Jenny Hofman - Electronic Inventory and Systems Manager
Jenny is the backbone of our Just in Time (JIT) Inventory replenishment system. In a specialized industry, her experience and expertise with prepaid inventory control systems guarantee our vendor portals operate seamlessly.
Jenny has over two decades of international experience in administration and operations, and has spent 10 years with us. Her specialized education includes diplomas in Oracle, IBM 400, as well as Systems and Advanced Purchasing Management.
Selwyn Morris - Physical Inventory & Logistics
Selwyn is the most recent addition to our team and comes to us with over 15 years experience in the shipping and warehousing industry, with expertise in distribution management and inventory control.
Prior to his current career path, Selwyn enjoyed a combined 30 years as an entrepreneur in his family-owned furniture and restaurant businesses abroad.
Luis Lezama - Chief Technology Officer
Luis is our in-house expert in maintaining applications and databases for our clients. He has worked in systems development for the last 21 years, spending the last nine at Global Service Solutions.
In the past, he has overseen support for point of sale (POS) terminals selling prepaid telephony services in 25,000 locations across the US, UK, Canada, Austria, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Chile.
Dan Cappannari - Senior Programmer Analyst
As our senior programmer, Dan led the design and development of our I.P.O.D. web interface, the system that provides our clients with state of the art processing, reporting and systems controls.
Dan is a veteran of software and system development, having spent 39 years in the industry. In the 1990s, he was part of a three-man team that developed Intel’s 80383 architecture, a precursor to Windows. Since then, he has developed transaction processing systems for digital gift giving, credit transactions and the prepaid industry, among others.
He has been part of the Global Service Solutions team for 11 years.
